Welcome to Reeve's Rest

Ted and Audrey are outdoorsy folks who love adventure and are engaged vocationally in seeking a more sustainable future for all. These commitments are rooted in “place” – appreciating the beauty and abundance of creation – particularly at 3 Brothers Falls. This feels like a sacred place to us and we look forward to sharing it with others.

The name Reeve’s Rest comes from the cottage of Ted’s childhood on Moira Lake. We are continuing to use this name in honour of the support of Dave Reeve, Ted’s father, who has enabled us to continue to have a place of gathering.

This riverfront cabin has a view of the 3rd waterfall in the Three Brothers Falls on the Burnt River that flows through Kinmount, Ontario. We hope you enjoy the serenity experienced by sitting by the rushing water. It was love at first sight for us when we found the property in 2012. We have worked hard to enhance the property and cabin over the years to make it a place of rest and relaxation. The Falls are a destination to fish and play, but most of all, we feel blessed to live here to listen to the Falls as we sleep. We are very lucky to be on situated on this right of way lane that ends at the Falls.

We are working to extend its usage to family to friends. This is not high end cottaging but a unique property where the natural beauty and enjoyment of the river and waterfall are where you will find value.

It is our preference that we use a DYI style  where people bring their own sheets and towels and clean up before they leave. Basically, leave it as you found it and communicate any issues so we can fix them.

There are 3 places to rest your head. A 24 x 24 log cabin with a large screen porch and two glamping style tents both primarily sleep 2 but but the yurt can accommodate up to 4 with a fold out futon couch.

We have created a gmail account – reevesrest@gmail.com – for you to stay in touch with us 🙂
